Hi guys,

Here is a video I made this morning of Batowl on wood from Batowl Studios 2. I learned to use the jigsaw and cut out my super doper illustration called Batowl with Carlos Hervias, a long time high school friend last week. Ever since then I’ve been cutting 6 every morning. I have a project coming up at the end of August that I hope to show you guys.

Thanks for tuning in. Click on the image below to view the video.

Love,

Gaby

Hey guys, remember the Bicycle I was looking for back in April? Well if you weren’t tuned in, I was asking everyone to be on the look out for my Schwinn Fair Lady in purple. Turns out, she had been in hiding. My friend Marina got it back for me eventually and it was amazing to see her back. She was all beat up, super rusty and broken. So I fixed her up and gave her new rims. Baby needed to be spoiled! So now it’s time to MOVE ON and RIDE ON! See you in the streets!

Hi Guys!

I wanted to tell you about Flor de Papa, a soap opera (telenovela) produced by Carlos Ambro in Lima, Peru. I know Ambro since I was a child. Our mothers are dear friends and we would see each other through gatherings in either Lima or New York.

Carlos Ambro began acting several years ago and now he has successfully executed a web series that is compelling, entertaining and almost theatrical, as the characters are full of emotion and passion.

I am proud of Carlos as I see the development of his work, moreover, his vital determination to follow his dreams and desires. So I’d like to share his work with you guys, and I hope you find it as entertaining as I do. If you do not speak Spanish, it’s ok, their is a lot of action to keep you tuned.

You can also keep with Flor de Papa through facebook

Love,

Gaby

And it works.

Here is my BatOwl ready for some screen printing.

Hi guys,

Boom!

Hi Guys, so the other day I was with my friend Milena who introduced me to Rafaella Carra. The Italian Lady Gaga of the 70′s. I am in love this song so bad. And you know, I have a hunch that it’s all TRUE.

If you need a little help- the song is called – YOU HAVE TO GO TO THE SOUTH.

Some explicit lyrics such as:

To make good love, you have to go to the South.

To make good love, I will go where you go.

Without lovers, who will console you?

Without lovers, this life is hell.

To make good love, you have to go to the South

the important thing is to do it with some you want

and if he leaves you…Find someone hotter and Fall in love again.

BAMM!

And then there is “Vuelve” and “Lucas”. Genius.

Well so lately I’ve been really into blogs. I am getting tired of pointless updates, including mine. I think blogging is such a great way to express yourself and give out important info to people who want to learn. Moreover, I think it’s great we start practicing long sentences and proper grammar, which I am horrible at anyway, but will be practicing here.

So I wanted to share some really awesome blogs I have come to love and be interested in.

One of them is painting. Like you know, painting walls. Particularly wood panneling. Gross. My mother’s home has some of that and my father loved them. He was very old school and liked old things. I guess he would have been an amazing hipster. But honestly, it’s horrid. So instead of taking them down, you can paint over them like this (how gorgeous?!) :

Click on the image to check out Elizabeth Anne Designs. She’s got a great blog.

But really my all time favorite is Muerto De Risa. I came accross her a few years ago while I was looking around for Peruvian art. She had visitied Peru and was very fond of our Indigenous crafts. Then i just kept on reading about her other stuff and came to love her blog very much. And so i’d like to share her with you:

Then I also came accross Playing House. Amy’s Blog is cool for the ladies, the mommies or the girls who love their home/apartment. You can get some ideas while you are home “Playing House”

And so here are some of my friends:

Jasmine Takanikos (friend and my consultant who is a force and this is a ligit blog). Her blog is all things NYC and Fashion. Hello! Keep up!:

And my dear friend Ilia Marie who has just started her blog and is under construction for now. But she will be blogging about love, peace and happiness. How cool is that? How how much do we all need that?!:

So this is just a few and I love for you to send me some links of your favorites!!! Thanks guys!

Hello friends!

I just made a video specially for Enrique Pio Haaker which you guys have seen make an intro here in my blog and in my YouTube. Enrique is one of my dearest friends in Peru. Every time I am down there, he comes to see me and we usually hit the beach. Over the years I have come to know Enrique and I am so blessed to have his friendship. He is one of the sweetest guys ever. He is an Agricultural Engineer and is living in Ica (about 4 hrs south of Lima), moreover he is a gentleman. I wanted to dedicate this very sexy video of us spending a day together. And sexy because being Peruvian is an already sexy thing. Add the Ocean, raspadilla and a surf board…it’s magic.

Turm the volume up and have your eyes peeled!

Hi guys,

I exclusively needed to write in this blog about the most amazing Lomographer/Photographer in the world, Mr. Liad Cohen. I met Liad in last summer, 2009, during a workshop at the Lomography store in the West Village. We got to know each other through that workshop and many other workshops. The only reason why I became such a huge fan of Lomography was because of Liad. His photography is authentic and he is the example of a true Lomographer. His images are outstanding. Double. triple exposures, cascading one another in perfect harmony. Vibrant and not so vibrant photos of people, places and things are developed from a simple snap shot. His execution is simple and his production is intricate, full of detail and nostalgia. I am one of his biggest fans ever, and I want to share his work with you!

Check him out:

And also, you should stop by the store and learn about Lomography. You will love it!

Hello friends,

A few days before I left Lima I went to the gallery to take some pictures of the space. Here is a view of my work in Galeria Juan Pardo Heeren. Thank you so much to those who came and supported my work. I am very proud of it and I hope that you were inspired.

Love,

Gaby
